What started as a simple passion project has grown into something I never imagined.
My journey actually began in the kitchen. As I learned more about the ingredients hiding in many everyday food products, I became passionate about canning, preserving, and making more from scratch. Before long, that curiosity expanded beyond food and into the products I was putting on my skin. I started researching ingredients, experimenting with simple formulations, and discovering that skincare didn't need a long list of complicated ingredients to be effective.
That curiosity eventually became SmallTown Soapery Co.
Nestled in the small township of Chatsworth, Ontario, I handcraft soaps, shampoo bars, facial bars, whipped tallow skincare, and a growing collection of personal care products made with thoughtfully chosen ingredients. Every product is created in small batches with a focus on quality, simplicity, and ingredients I genuinely trust.
I've always been a creative person. From making handmade gifts for family and friends to trying new recipes and projects, creating something with my own hands has always brought me joy. When I began making products, the encouragement from friends and family quickly turned a hobby into a business.
My philosophy is simple: small batch, simple ingredients, and products that feel good to use every day. I believe skincare doesn't need to be complicated or filled with unnecessary additives. It just needs quality ingredients, careful craftsmanship, and a little love.
Today, you'll find me in my workshop developing new products, perfecting recipes, and continually learning more about traditional skincare. I still love attending local markets, meeting customers in person, and hearing how my products have become part of their daily routines.
